Many of us “creative types” tend to juggle a lot of ideas and projects. It’s just how we’re wired. 🎨 🎸 🎭 🎬 🖍️📝 📸 📚 🧵 ✂️
I’m here with a pretty short, sweet and slightly contradictory message today:
It’s okay that you didn’t finish that thing. And I believe you can if you want to.
A piece of art, or an idea, doesn’t like to be abandoned. Or let me put it this way—leaving a piece of work undone and seeing it every day can make us feel abandoned, as if a part of us is left unresolved.
🧹 I’m sure we’ve all felt this when it comes to house chores or those ongoing “projects” that linger in the background.
I’m not asking you to finish every unresolved project in your life today. Living in the midst of process is just part of life.
Instead, I’m offering a little creative rebranding—and of course hope:
Unfinished stuff isn’t abandoned; it’s a work in progress. And the only thing you need to do to move it forward is pick it up and make one teeny, tiny change. Just one.
That might mean taking it out of sight, giving it away, or alternatively picking it up again and seeing what happens.

One way I deal with unfinished artwork is to cut it up. Zooming in on details helps me find new things in the art.
Looking for some support in your journey? Join the Winter Cohort! Together we will build our creative muscles and practice picking up our unfinished creative work, despite the urge to do literally anything else.
Registration for the Incubator closes THIS SUNDAY December 29th.
Godspeed!
